More Beach Art

I'm trying to get my blogging life restarted. I was given a Thursday deadline (don't ask), and that seems to be tomorrow.... I found some beach shots in my files that I haven't posted, so that will be today's fare.

Sand dollar and shells

Fisherman hauling up traps at dawn. Pelicans are flying around, hoping for breakfast.

More pelicans.

Fish, after calling Jenny Craig. (I've opted for Weight Watchers.)

If I Were Free

If I were free, I'd live in a tree

A house in the sky

A river nearby

But if I were free

And lived in a tree

Then who would feed me??

(Note from Jean: This super-cool bird house is located on Banks Street in Morehead City, North Carolina. While it's certainly captured my fancy, Casey has never seen it, which is probably for the best....)

Sunrise at the Beach

I woke up around 6 a.m. this morning, and my inner voice was saying that if I'd get up and go to the beach, I could see the sunrise. "It's dark out!" I replied. The obvious was pointed out to me that the sun doesn't rise in the middle of the morning.... I was at the beach by 6:30 a.m., and got in my walk, as well as taking over 100 photos. (Thank goodness for digital - I'd never use real film like this!) Of the sunrise pictures, these are my favorites. Hope you enjoy them too. In the picture above, those are clouds in the background along the horizon.

I walked beyond my favorite pier so that I could turn back and take the pictures with the pier in silhouette.

I do love the zoom button on my camera! And the cropping tool in Photoshop. They help me give the impression that I know what I'm doing....

The sun here is peeking out between the cloud layers. It was well worth the early rise, and I was back home at 8 a.m. for breakfast.
