Black & White - The Alhambra

These photos were taken at the Alhambra in Granada, Spain.

The Patio of the Lions is probably the most famous place in the Alhambra. It is so called because of the twelve lions that throw jets of water and which are part of the fountain in the middle of the patio.

There were roses in the gardens

and snow on the distant mountains.

Red Sky At Night

One of my art quilts, Red Sky At Night, is being featured on the blog Quilt Inspiration.  The two women who do this blog select different themes and then find art on Etsy to work with the theme.  I'm pleased they found me!  Here's a link to the quilt in one of my Etsy shops.

Duke University Medical Center

We were at Duke University Medical Center in May and the architecture of the hospital really caught my attention.  This first photo is looking down at the roof over the lobby.

The second photo was taken inside the lobby, looking up at that roof.  Through the roof you can see a glass tower.  I was up there on the third floor when I took the photo looking down at the glass roof.
As usual, I was playing with the pictures in Photoshop.

I loved the pop of color on the second floor.

To the side of the building was a lovely courtyard.  Standing in the courtyard, I took several pictures of the glass tower.  The reflection from the other buildings was incredible.

Ditto.

In this picture, on the left, you can see a bit of the pointy glass roof that's over the lobby.

This is the entrance to the courtyard.  You can see the glass tower in the background.

Alien Pots

I saw these pots at a Lowes Home Improvement Store and they reminded me of aliens.  Granted, I haven't known that many aliens, but still....

I decided to play with them in Photoshop.  First I cropped and brightened them.

This image used the Glowing Edges filter.

There was a Cutout Filter that I hadn't really used before.  I also increased saturation to 100%.

I used some "distortion" for this last image.  Pretty creepy-looking characters!
